One you go to Winship, you will be able to experience a multidisciplinary care that cannot be seen anywhere else around. The doctors and the entire medical team along with the supportive care team will be by your side and look at each side individually and care with dedication and compassion. Their mission is to research and win over this dreadful disease cancer and that makes their service extra special.
Why makes them different?
Treatment on a wholesome basis: They are different because they analyze and treat a person as a whole and not just the disease perspective. A thorough research of the patient, their lifestyle, their habits, their medicines and also all possible therapies that can be undertaken are listed before a treatment begins. Plus, they also educate their family members on how to help the patient survive cancer in the best way possible.
It is true that they research and cure cancer patients, but apart from that they do one more thing: they help the cancer patients and their families survive through ordeal. In the past few years, WINSHIP had created a number of support groups and integrated treatments with such survivorship complementary therapies and people have accepted these therapies very well.
Collaboration: Their culture is built on the foundation of belief, communication and trust between the patients, their supporters and also the doctors.
Research: They aim at giving the best to their patients and therefore, each therapy that is undertaken is a different, new and a positive move to drive away cancer.
Build Hope: The Winship team builds hope and inner strength within the minds of patients as that has seen to have drastic improvements in the health and mind of people.
Steve and Anna Pinder can still remember their cancer journey through the last four years of from first diagnosis to recovery from Hodgkin lymphoma. They've been continually supported by the Cancer Crushers team, made up of Anna's colleagues from Jabian Consulting, their friends and family members.
"We know what it's like to be a patient and caregiver at Winship and it's important for us to help others who are going through hard times," says Anna. "Winship was there for us and we want to be there for others."
